Nyambaria School is an Seventh Day Adventist sponsored school. The school treasures the tradition of putting God first. The Chaplaincy department helps to maintain the spiritual development of students in school.
We believe that for a person to be fully developed, the mental, physical, social and spiritual aspects need to be considered. Thus to cater for the spiritual needs of f teachers and students, we congregate every Friday evening to Saturday evening to praise and thank God for His guidance and also receive words of counsel from the chaplain, invited guests and some students. We also have evening vespers conducted daily before remedial classes begin for 30 minutes. This is done in every class and is under leadership of class spiritual leader and monitored by the department.
Our school understands that spiritual resource and discipline are the nerve of the school. It is for this case that many students have been baptized quarterly in conjunction with the district pastor and the mother church.
The school holds students of diverse religious background due to its magnitude. Therefore, to provide room for fellowship and spiritual growth for all, there are various religious groups and choirs that the students join on their own accord.
The Y.C.S group is normally allowed to attend morning mass on Sunday at the Gekano Parish before resuming for the Sunday routine of the school.
To strengthen the chaplaincy department of the school, there is a chaplaincy leadership group organized according to the S.D.A doctrines and is structured as shown below:
1. The principal –
2. School chaplain – Pastor Mannasseh Mayaba
3. Church Elder – Misati Daniel
4. Head Deacon –
5. Church deacons
Treasurer – Mr. Mosoku Richard
6. Patrons :-
7. Church chairman-
8. Church Prefect –
10. Class spiritual leaders
The committee deals with all religious issue and ensures they are compatible with the Seventh Day beliefs, the school routine and its goals.
